| Mr David Milliband, Schools Standards Minister has singled out Compton All Saints Church of England Primary School for praise in the progress it has made in introducing workforce reforms.
Speaking at a national conference in the summer Mr Milliband said: "I am very impressed by the steps that Compton School has taken towards reforming its workforce - these have had clear benefits for the staff and the pupils. The staff have embraced changes which are raising pupil standards. Many of these are now enshrined in a national agreement and Compton School provides a great example of where all schools should be heading. The first phase of workforce reform comes into force in all schools in Hampshire in September".
Mr Milliband added that, as a result of the reforms, teachers have more time to concentrate on teaching, support staff feel included and valued for the contribution they can make, and every child is being given greater attention and a better chance of succeeding. In a letter to parents, Mrs Mandy Hopkins, Parent Governor, said: "David Milliband's praise was a remarkable accolade for a small village primary school. I hope you share my feeling that we can be really proud to be part of such an outstanding and forward-looking school." A sentiment shared by all who are associated in any way with the school.
