SHAWFORD PARISH HALL

Shawford Parish Hall was originally opened in 1896. The building cost (including land purchase) was £750!  A small extension was added in 1921 but, by the end of the 20th century, its facilities were falling well short of modern expectations.  To mark the new Millennium the Compton & Shawford Community Association (CASCA), in partnership with the Parish Council, undertook to plan and execute a major extension and refurbishment of the premises to equip them to meet the requirements of the next 100 years.  This project was completed early in 2001.

DIRECTIONS

Shawford Parish Hall is situated close to the Railway Station and the Bridge Hotel in Shawford.  If approaching by road from Winchester turn left just after crossing over the M3 (just before if coming from Otterbourne or Chandlers Ford). Turn left again just before the Railway Bridge at the bottom of Shawford Hill and the Hall is immediately on your right.  Alternatively it can be approached across the valley from Twyford turning right just after passing under the railway bridge.
