Horse racing came to Compton & Shawford once again with a repeat of the successful Horse Racing Evening at the Village Hall on Saturday 16th November. The hall was full with over 100 racegoers, who enjoyed a meal before seeing nine races, which were all kindly sponsored by local people. Generous support for the Tote also helped towards a total of £1400 being raised towards the Jubilee Pavilion. The evening was organised by Lyn Brace with the enthusiastic support of many others. |
The next fundraising event is now confirmed as a Fifties Evening at the Concorde Club on Tuesday 4th March. Tickets are £32.50 per person and include a three course meal as well as a complete entertainment programme. Tables of 10 are available, but smaller tables of any number can be accommodated. Please order tickets from Paul and Karen Murray on 01962 714518. The final submission to Sport England is now in their hands and goes before the Panel in London on December 16th.
