The developer who has bought the site discussed his plans for a 55-60 bed care home and four residential dwellings on the site at the Parish Council meeting on 1 July.

June 2008: Appointment of new parish clerk

We thank all the fourteen people who applied for the clerk's job.
After a careful review of all the applications, and interviews with the shortlisted candidates, we are pleased to announce that David Drake has been offered, and has accepted the post of Parish Clerk, taking over from Mike Langford.

His appointment was confirmed at the Parish Council meeting on 3 June 2008. The handover period will run until the July Parish Council meeting.

David has 30 years' experience in the FCO, and we are looking forward to working with him on the various projects of the Parish Council.

27 May 2008: Vacancy for a parish clerk

Following the resignation of our clerk, Mike Langford, to take up a post in Norway, we advertised the position at the beginning of May.

By the closing date of 24 May 2008 we had received a very good set of applications and have drawn up a shortlist for interview.

Congratulations to Compton's Ben Farrar, whom many of you will have seen at the Parish Plan Open Days in the spring, or at the Summer Ball on the Playing Field. Ben, under his stage name of Ben Hart, has just won the Magic Circle’s prestigious Young Magician of the Year award for 2007.
