Flower ShowThe Parish Hall

Built by public subscription in 1896 for £750, it celebrated its centenary with two weeks of special events in December 1996 and January 1997. The large and small halls are available for rent through the caretaker, Mr Frank Smith, on 712944.

It is used by clubs and societies, for dances and parties. It is the home of the Heathcote players and is also used for voting at elections.

The picture shows the hall in use for the annual show of the Horticultural Society.

We recently discovered that the old Parish Hall crockery had come from the White Star Line and was saleable to collectors of Titanic memorabilia.

CASCA, with Parish Council support, are modernising the Parish Hall using grant money and funds from the sale of the adjacent plot. The official opening of the refurbished hall is on 15 October 1999.
